JEFF GEORGE
Clinician, Coach, and Training Educator

Jeff George is the owner and director of Ultra Sports Performance located in Charlotte, NC. He is a strength and conditioning coach, a sports performance coach, an orthopedic rehab and corrective exercise specialist, and an expert on developing explosive athletes. He is regarded as one of the top athletic movement specialist in the country.
For over two decades, Jeff has been a leading force in athletic training and performance. A military veteran who dedicated 21 years to the U.S. Armed Forces, he was not only an elite boxer and Tae Kwon Do competitor but also the head boxing coach for the All-Army team, where he first honed his passion for developing athletes.
Since 1999, Jeff has built an extensive career in strength and conditioning, working with athletes at every level, from high school to the professional ranks of the NBA, NFL, and MLB. His deep expertise is backed by a Doctorate in Kinesiology, specializing in strength and conditioning, and a Master's degree in Orthopedic Rehabilitation.
Jeff holds numerous certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the NSCA, and is a certified coach for USA Swim, USA Track, and USA TRI-Sport. He uses his wealth of knowledge to help athletes unlock their full potential and achieve peak performance.

Dr. KYLAH GEORGE
PT, DPT. Asst Strength Coach, NSCA-Personal Trainer

Dr. Kylah George, PT, DPT is a physical therapist at Ultra Sports Performance specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation and return-to-sport performance training. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Elon University after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. George combines her clinical expertise with a strong background in strength and conditioning to help athletes and active individuals recover from injury and return to the activities they love. Her treatment approach emphasizes progressive strength training, movement mechanics, and performance-based rehabilitation to safely bridge the gap between traditional physical therapy and full athletic performance.
Prior to transitioning fully into outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation, Dr. George worked in inpatient rehabilitation where she developed experience in neurologic recovery and functional movement training. This background continues to influence her approach to building strong movement foundations for patients of all levels—from competitive athletes to highly active older adults.
Kylah is certified in dry needling and is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Her clinical interests include post-operative rehabilitation, return-to-sport training, and strength and power development.
A former competitive swimmer for 13 years, Kylah has a lifelong passion for strength training and athletic performance. Outside the clinic, she enjoys working out, attending live music events, and exploring new restaurants with friends
SHANNON MAXWELL
Personal Trainer

Shannon Maxwell is a highly experienced personal trainer with a unique background rooted in competitive athletics. A graduate of UNC-Pembroke and a former two-sport collegiate athlete, Shannon leverages over 13 years in bodybuilding and power-lifting to inform her expert approach. Since transitioning to personal training in 2004, she has earned certifications as an NSCA-CPT and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. Her passion for optimizing movement led her to become a TPI Level 3 Certified Golf Fitness Professional. Shannon is dedicated to crafting personalized fitness programs that empower clients to excel, whether they're aiming for peak performance on the golf course or enhanced well-being in their daily lives. She prides herself on actively listening and tailoring strategies to meet each individual's unique goals.
MALIA L. PEREIRA, MS, CSCS
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Malia is a dedicated and dynamic Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a Master of Science in Kinesiology from UNC Charlotte and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She brings a strong academic foundation to her hands-on experience working with youth, collegiate, and professional athletes.
Malia draws from her background in sports science, data analysis, and injury prevention to deliver individualized programs that help athletes move better, recover smarter, and perform at their peak. She has completed internships with Anthem Rugby Carolina, Davidson College, and Charlotte Christian School where she facilitated training programs and supported return-to-play protocols.
Beyond the weight room, her background includes teaching and leadership roles, as well as impactful community work focusing on Pacific Islander health initiatives, making her a well-rounded professional committed to promoting athletic excellence and community wellness. She’s passionate about creating inclusive training environments that empower athletes both physically and mentally.
